With the Coronavirus, or COVID-19, or Wuhan Flu, Chinese virus or Kung Flu * pandemic now official, we've seen the store shelves empty of bottled water, toilet paper, hand sanitizer and now even the staples like canned goods, rice and flour. The United States is slowly sliding into a full-blown panic. So I've decided to dust off a piece I wrote back in 2017 with a simple message I learned from the game "We Become What We Behold", that message is simply: Don't Be Afraid.
Look around you, check your social media feeds (go ahead I'll wait here in the other tab/window...) you're going to find post after post, story after story, videos in the millions designed to do one very simple thing: make you afraid in order to motivate you into doing something. The idea is to make you afraid enough to buy something, go somewhere, do something, say something. They'll scare you to make you vote, they'll scare you to make you protest, they'll scare you to make you violent. Above all other things people who are afraid, are people who OBEY.
Fear is a primal response which forces binary thinking, fight or fly, for or against, Pro-Trump or Never-Trump, resist or submit. Binary thinking is a logical fallacy in almost every possible situation. If you can be made afraid enough, your most basic possible thought process in the oldest part of our brains driven by adrenaline forces you to make what can be the worst decisions of your life. What the powers of social media and group-think have done is to powerfully enhance our most base possible instincts. Rather than setting us free intellectually, the readily available flow of uninhibited information is regressing us to our primal, savage natures.
Today we live in a world where rights that were held two centuries ago as beyond contestation and to paraphrase the Declaration of independence were "truths (held) to be self-evident" are under constant and sustained attack. We have a President who in the face of some of the most biased media coverage in history has candidly raised the question of whether or not the truthfulness of the Press or rather the flagrant lack thereof can or should be policed and if so by whom? We have hundreds of thousands of people, movie stars and politicians alike decrying the uninfringed right to bear arms, long held sacrosanct as the final resort to preserve a free nation. It's all about fear. The way societies have traditionally surrendered their rights has always been through the surreptitious administration and steady exploitation of fear.
I don't want my children or anyone's to grow up afraid that they will be judged and held indirectly responsible for the crimes of other, unrelated, men who lived and died in this nation a century before their ancestors arrived here all through the fallacy of "white privilege". And it is only through fear and anger that such a concept can flourish. The unholy fusion of anger at the past atrocities of slavery, racism and oppression combined with the fear of the same renewed again. All people are responsible only for their own individual behavior and that of the children they raise. The only path forward for our society is through love, brotherhood & individual responsibility as Dr. King himself put it:
"And herein lies our responsibility. We are not responsible for the environment we are born in, neither are we responsible for our hereditary circumstances. But there is a third factor for which we are responsible namely, the personal response which we make to these circumstances.”
The most important lesson I can ever teach to my three little boys and my little girl, which I can and must pass on: Is that while fear can be useful as a motivator to avoid injury or danger, fear of disappointing a loved one can be a positive behavioral force or the fear of consequences can guide our morality: Fear is something to keep tamed, curbed and in check. We must rule our fear, or we can and certainly will be ruled by it, and by those who wield it.
Don't be manipulated into hating your countrymen. Don't be motivated to act outside of the truths you hold to be self-evident. Don't be controlled. Be free my countrymen and #Don'tBeAfraid.

I began The #HollowNet podcast on the Lanterns Media Network almost two years ago with a vision of creating a different kind of conservative podcast/talk-show. Despite the best intentions I had, the product that I've been creating has been seriously insufficient in that respect. Try as I might to be unique, I find myself sounding a lot like many other voices on the right, calling out the stories that boil my blood, confound my reason and bring gloom to my soul. I comment on these stories weekly, providing snippy acerbic responses, wash, rinse & repeat. It just isn't good enough, and now something has to change.
As many of you may know but some may not, The #HollowNet as of last week was the only remaining active podcast on The Lanterns Media Network roster. Some shows have taken hiatus, some have moved on to different networks where I will continue to follow them and wish them success and happiness while others have simply ceased production with no announcement or ceremony. That last bit, is not what I'm doing now.
As I said, this needs to change. I cannot continue bringing you The #HollowNet Podcast such as it is in it's current form, when I look at this website I see two things, over a year's worth of good work yes, but also... a monument to my ego & vanity. I have so many questions that I need to answer before I can come before you again and ask you to read, watch & listen to my content, let alone support it (in no particular order):
Is what I am creating of sufficiently high quality as to be worthy of your time, attention and support?
Is what I'm creating helping? Locally? Regionally? Nationally?
Am I bridging the ideological gulf or widening it?
Am I educating people or simply reinforcing their echo chambers?
Am I providing new and valuable insight with nuance or have I become another partisan hack?
Is what I am creating pleasing to the Lord?
Is what I am producing worthy of the time taken away from my family and from gainful pursuits that can increase their quality of life?
Is what I'm doing to create this content healthy? ( So much of what I read and watch in order to create content is very damaging to the soul.)
I cannot answer these questions right now. And it may take me some time before I can. Thought, prayer, humility and grace will be required. Thank you all for sticking with me these last 12 months, through ups and downs, I know some of you have been with me even longer and I cannot thank you enough.
Know, that I have every intention to continue creating content for you, whether it takes the form of a podcast, short-form Youtube/Bitchute videos or more writing I cannot yet say. But this is not the end, not for The #HollowNet and not for me, it is simply as I said: Time To Change. Until then my friends, God bless you & God bless The United States of America.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivor, David Hogg has said in an interview with 'The Outline':
‘our parents don’t know how to use a f***ing democracy’
I have nothing but the deepest sympathy for the victims of every school shooting incident, myself having come of age in the Post-Columbine era, and having endured multiple bomb threats during my high school tenure in which "Bomb Sniffing Janitors" were utilized instead of the local law enforcement agencies as administrators felt it was too expensive to bring in the bomb-squad repeatedly. Charming no? Gives you warm fuzzies on their priorities back in 2002.
However, the following must be said to the emotionally charged masses of all ages who are clamoring for an "Assault Weapons Ban" or "Common Sense Gun Control":
The United States is not and never has been a Democracy, we were founded as and still remain a Republic in order to protect our freedoms; specifically from people in your mindset.
“The choice of SEVERAL, to form an intermediate body of electors, will be much less apt to convulse the community with any extraordinary or violent movements, than the choice of ONE who was himself to be the final object of the public wishes. And as the electors, chosen in each State, are to assemble and vote in the State in which they are chosen, this detached and divided situation will expose them much less to heats and ferments, which might be communicated from them to the people, than if they were all to be convened at one time, in one place.”
The gist of this is, while granted: is in reference to the electoral college, is a conceit that the American people are and always have been subject to strong emotional responses and reactions. These emotional motivations must be tempered and allowed to cool, there must be separation between the American people ourselves, as prone to rash, calamitous collective action as all men are, and those who govern. This is why the United States of America IS. NOT. A. DEMOCRACY. #FullStop.
Our founders, such as Benjamin Franklin, who so famously is quoted answering a women as to 'What have you given us?' after the Constitutional convention 'A Republic madam, if you can keep it.' did so quite purposefully. In point of fact even the CIA World Factbook describes our government as a "constitutional federal republic" and not a Democracy. Democracy is direct rule by the people themselves and as Greece experienced in the days of the city states, is a failure as a governmental type. The people are prone to reaction-ism and essentially mob rule, where the needs of the many always outweigh the needs of the few or the one, regardless of personal responsibility or individual rights. Democracy is effectively: collectivism, the majority always rules, even (and historically ESPECIALLY) when the majority is stirred into a frenzied state through fear, hatred, ignorance and bigotry. Conversely a Republic is dependent upon the powers of government being restrained by laws that enshrine and protect the individual from the whims of the majority, in practice, this is why we have a bicameral legislature, why initially the US Senate was a state appointed body, why to this day they are re-elected less frequently, this is why the American people do not elect the Judiciary, and why as I've written for TheBlaze.com in 2016: you do not actually, nor were you ever meant to vote directly for the President.
Simply put, America is a Republic, NOT a Democracy: This was an intentional decision by our founders designed to Protect us from emotional, irrational reactionary movements like #OccupyWallstreet, #BlackLivesMatter, #Antifa and now #MarchForOurLives. Your feelings are valid, your loss is real and yes, we care. But men cannot be governed through emotion, we must fix reason firmly in her seat and govern for the good of all Americans deliberately and with great care, for our individual rights and individual protection, and most of all individual responsibility.
